Today I am grateful for the amazing accounting firm I work for. I can take time off to accomplish goals for myself. Some do not have this luxury. I am blessed and thankful.

November 28

I am thankful for Christmas trees. They bring loved ones together, smell fantastic and serve as a constant reminder to be grateful for everything around you and of the sacrifices that are made so that we may live eternally.

November 26

I am grateful for Amazon.com. I can do all my shopping online and I do not have to stand in lines, leave my apartment and its good company or be trampled on in the stampedes that were shown on the news for a deal on Black Friday. I'm actually done with my Christmas shopping already. I feel so accomplished.

November 25

I spent my day sick in bed. I am thankful for my brother and sisters today who came to keep me company on this Thanksgiving Holiday and for my Rakesh who came home early to spend part of today with me after visiting with his family in Austin.

November 24

I am grateful for phones today. If it werent for phones, I wouldnt have been able to talk to my Grandma today. I miss seeing her as much as I used to as a kid. Life seems to be getting busier and busier. I wish it werent something that was true for everyone. We all seem to get so wrapped up in the day to day we forget to stop and make time to breathe and enjoy the company of our loved ones. I am happy tomorrow is Thanksgiving and that I'll get to spend some time with family.

November 23rd

I am thankful for my ability to walk. Too often I take for granted the simplest things that I just expect to have in this life. Today I wish to express that I do appreciate those small things that can make such a huge difference in our lives.

November - A Month of Thanks

I had a fantastic time hanging out with family (you included, Jaya - lol) this weekend at Fort Hood. Rakesh and I spent time with family, after I did some work, and enjoyed a very powerful concert series, which inspired this post.

So in remembrance of the Fallen 13 of Fort Hood in November 2009 and celebration of the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, I commit to a month of gratitude and thanks for November.

To catch up (since it is the 8Th), listed below are 8 of God's many blessings upon me and my life, which I wish to express gratitude. I encourage you to do the same. If not in blog form, maybe just in prayer or expression to a loved one. :)

1. I am thankful for my health. Life can be so difficult when one lacks good health. God has blessed me with no serious challenges thus far and I am so grateful.
2. I am thankful for the men that stand on walls in this country and other countries so that I can rest my head at night with a sense of security. There is no greater self sacrifice in my book.
3. I am thankful for my job. Even though I struggle to enjoy it, I am grateful that I have one when so many do not.
4. I am thankful for Rakesh (my enduring/permanent boyfriend - lol We'll get married eventually). Rakesh has been my rock. Anytime anything goes wrong, he steadies me time and time again. I am blessed to have him.
5. I am thankful for every meal. I know what it is like to not have food to eat. I do not forget it anytime I sit down to eat.
6. I am thankful for my family and friends. Each of them are a blessing in my life, each who lift me up and dust me off when I take a stumble in life (usually metaphorically, but sometimes an actual physical stumble). I am grateful.
7. I am thankful for computers and the man that invented them. Life could be so much more difficult without them. Just thinking of doing my job without one makes me want to cry.
8. I am thankful to Professor Jackson, Ms. Francis, Ms. Burkitt and Ms. Tarter. Teachers who pushed just a little harder and cared and encouraged just a little more. I am thankful for their support and encouragement during the years of my education.
