Number 49

Number 49: Eat at the Oasis on Lake Travis in Austin, TX

When I made this list I was unsure of what to add to it. I started looking at things family members had done and I came across this particular restaurant. The view was raved upon by so many uncles and cousins. So yesterday, when visiting Priya and Leo in Austin, we went and ate at the Oasis. Rakesh and Rajeev tainted the experience with looking up the reviews but overall it was a good time spend with family. Priya had the run of the place which was of course acceptable because she's so darn cute. I had myself a yummy margarita and we enjoyed the view. We got there a little early but it ended up working out in our favor because when it was time to go the line was out the door and around the corner. People really love the atmosphere: the lake, live music and good drinks. After dinner, we drove down to the lake and played in the water for a bit. According to our waiter, due to the drought, the water level was 35 feet below normal! Here's some photos from the evening. I can't wait to scrapbook these memories. :D

Number 69

Today I took my first of many-to-come painting classes. Tabitha, Andira Sarah and myself went to the Friendswood location of Painting with a Twist. It was so much fun. I managed to get paint all over myself before we even started. Lol I think I subconsciously enjoy making a mess. :)
The girls and I had a really good time and we left wanting to do another class soon, even though we weren't all entirely pleased with today's creations. It was a good time with good friends and we made good memories. I can't wait to do something crafty with these ladies again sometime real soon.

August 9

This is my second week of work at Harper & Pearson and if I do say so myself, so far so good. SO GOOD! I love it here. I feel like I can finally breathe. It's really nice. I am getting into the waking up early cycle again. I am excited to actually get an opportunity to ENJOY my work. :)

Other than that, some other updates: Rakesh and I have started up looking for a home again. We're going after a home which I really really want but we'll just have to see if it's what God wants us to have. I have tried really hard this year to just put it in His hands and He hasn't led me astray yet. So I am relishing in His love for us and trusting in His plan. :)

I also applied recently to be a SEI Design Team member. It's an opportunity to develop myself in my side craft - Scrapbooking. My pictures could have been better but I was tired and rushed. But I hope they look past that and give me a shot. :D I'm really hoping it goes well. Say a prayer for me. I've told myself that if I'm picked I'm going to go buy a DSLR camera.

I am studying for FAR. Its hard to stay motivated to study when I am so distracted all the time. Houston Restaurant Weeks is going on. Rakesh graduates this Saturday! I still need to order a cake. Happy Hours for my friends and their accomplishments. And of course work!

AND finally, this week ends my PE class at SJCC. Which means - I'm going to get that Associates degree in the mail soon! whoo-hoo!
